Identifying hardware (memory) without opening the box

I'm considering a memory upgrade for my main laptop. The question is "what's in there now" ?
It can take up to 2 * 2GB memory cards (£15 each now !)

dmidecode --type 17

lshw -class memory

So I've got 2 * 1GB installed and have to replace them both.
