Java (SQuirreL SQL CLient) IPv6 fail on Debian

Had a failed install of squirrelsql untill I found this bug report.

Added this IPV4 preference to the end of my squirrel-sql.sh launch command
.
.
.
IPV4="-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true"
# Launch SQuirreL application
$JAVACMD $IPV4 -Xmx256m -cp "$TMP_CP" $MACOSX_SQUIRREL_PROPS -splash:icons/splash.jpg net.sourceforge.squirrel_sql.client.Main --log-config-file "$UNIX_STYLE_HOME"/log4j.properties --squirrel-home "$UNIX_STYLE_HOME" $NATIVE_LAF_PROP $SCRIPT_ARGS
The software update is still broken, but I can connect to a database at last !

Password Strength

I was reminded of this today when microsofts "live" mail reject a password as too long !

They invented the "complicated password" which resulted in lots of passwords like G00gle4pp being used, made to be accepted by ***p password policies.
Not only easy to remember, but easy to crack.

Next time you have to make up a password and there is one of those "Password Strength Meter" boxes just try ****** and see how many stars you need to get the password rated as "excellent".
